2007 Vintage Port
Hurry! Hurry! Hurry! For those of you that haven't yet made up your mind about whether you should buy some vintage port, now is the time. Is £200 a lot of money to pay for 6 bottles of wine before duty and VAT [that works out at around £41 a bottle]? It certainly is, but Graham's vintage port is among the best wines in the world and will last for many years to come - for an oenophile, one of life's great treats is when you take out a bottle from your collection that was bottled decades ago and find that its still at its peak.
I suspect I won't be alone in not being able to remember exactly how every penny will be spent over the next 15-20 years and yet I'm sure I'll be delighted that I spent what I did when I decide to uncork one of my 2007 ports.
